Metro extension northwards

Long live the West Bengal Govt. We all know about the extension of Calcutta Metro along the south-eastern fringes of the city from Tollygunge to New Garia (Patuli, Baishnabghata).

Latest is - plans are being made to extend the same towards north-west; from Dum Dum to Baranagar (B.T.Rd. X-ing). This will be automatically adjusted along with the proposed 2nd Vivekananda Bridge (near the same B.T.Rd. X-ing) and will prove beneficial in linking up the Howrah section of passengers too.

Construction cost proposed: Rs.500 crores
